Itinerary

Day 1KAYAK AND VISIT TO MONKEY ISLAND

Reception at the airport or land terminal and transfer to the AMAZON ECO LODGE PARADISE office, for the corresponding records. (Luggage that you do not need during your stay in the jungle can be stored here to avoid transportation inconveniences). You can visit the city’s Plaza de Armas and take photos from the Plaza Grau viewpoint, admiring the confluence of two great rivers: Madre de Dios and Tambopata.

Boarding at the Capitanía Port towards our Lodge: a 40-minute journey of navigation through the Madre de Dios River in a typical boat from the Amazon jungle.

– Welcome meeting, with a delicious local fruit juice and installation in your rooms.

KAYAK AND VISIT TO MONKEY ISLAND

After putting on our life jackets we will board the boat and then go to the kayak and enjoy this adventure, for your safety there will always be a boat that will follow the group accompanying you, a good opportunity to bathe in the waters of the Madre de Dios and be able to de-stress from our activities in the city.

In front of the ECO LODGE PARADISE there is an island where there is a group of monkeys that are used to humans and that is why it is possible to get close to them, feed them and see their coexistence between different species. It is a beautiful experience with these funny little animals.

Return to our stay in PARADISE, take a break in the afternoon with drinks that our bar can provide and have a majestic view from the hammocks on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, the sunset in front of the monkey island.

CAIMANEADA.- After settling in, you will board a boat with a float, you will travel along the river bank to observe alligators on the beaches, it is also possible to see other animals such as nocturnal birds and Capybaras, which is the largest rodent in the world.

Day 2LAKE SANDOVAL

8:00 am. We will embark on a boat, in which we will travel along the Madre de Dios River to the entrance of Lake Sandoval for an approximate time of 40 min. Here we will disembark and walk for a few minutes until we reach the Sandoval Lake Control Post, they will register and present their entrance tickets, since this Lake is located in the Tambopata National Reserve. Then we will continue with our trip, making a 3 km walk. for an estimated time of 45 minutes.

During this tour you will have the chance to see a great variety of flora and hopefully a variety of fauna such as birds, monkeys, rodents, arachnids, insects, reptiles and amphibians.

Upon reaching the shores of the lake, you will enjoy a refreshing and relaxing bath in the waters of this majestic lake, which we will leave to your decision, you will taste a delicious and typical jungle lunch and then take a rowing boat and go for a walk through the lake. lake, this time we will look for birds such as hoatzines, cormorants, anhingas, with luck and the best attraction in Lake Sandoval “the playful Lobos de Río”.

In the afternoon, agreeing the time with your guide, you will leave the lake until you reach the banks of the Madre de Dios River, where the boat will be waiting for you to board and take you to AMAZON ECO LODGE PARADISE.

day 3NATIVE FAMILY VISIT

8:00 a.m. Breakfast.

This modern socialized world makes us forget that there are ancient cultures and traditions. A demonstration of the customs of our indigenous peoples, giving the great opportunity to have direct contact with a family of ancient warriors and hunters and to share with them their ancestral customs, as well as being able to help them financially with the purchase of some of their products. that they make themselves.

Rustic fishing

In the afternoon we will continue with our next activity, we will take the boat until we reach a ravine where we will do rustic fishing for fish such as (catfish, maiden, sardines or piranha fish).

Return to the lodge, dinner and rest.

Day 4ECO-ADVENTURE

After meeting our staff and leaving the luggage in their rooms, we will go to our adventure center.

CANOPY

Walk through the forest (200 meters) until you reach the Canopy Tower, which is 35 m. High up, it is built at the foot of an immense lupuna Tree representative of the Amazon due to its majestic size, during the day there is the possibility of seeing a variety of birds in addition to the fabulous natural landscape on the trees, the guide will explain about the fauna and local flora.

ZIP LINE.

After enjoying the walk through the Canopy bridge, we will start with the activity of the zip line, the guide will explain how to do it, they will be placed in the equipment used to carry out the activity and the necessary equipment for their safety after the instructions that Provided by the Guide you will be able to slide down the 190 meter long zip line, at the other end the assistant will receive you to help you cross another small 100m bridge. and return by another 190 m long line shot to the starting point.

After leaving all the equipment we return to the Lodge for lunch.

LUNCH

After a comforting lunch we can take a nap in the hammocks, after that we will be ready for our next adventure.

KAYAK

The kayak activity starts from the Lodge, we will take the kayaks and the oars and after putting on the life jackets we will board the boat and then start the activity and enjoy this adventure, for your safety there will always be a boat that will follow the group accompanying you down the river A good opportunity to bathe in the waters of Madre de Dios and to de-stress from our activities in the city.

Day 5OBSERVATION PLATFORMS

 In 2005 the CANOPY WALKWAY was built, a 90m suspension bridge up to a platform on the top of a 300-year-old Lupuna, at 45m, the highest natural observation point in the jungle. The staff and volunteers use it as one of the monitoring points for birds.

TARICAYA TURTLE PROJECT: In 2006 the Turtle Repopulation project began

Taricaya to save this endangered species. Local people extract the eggs for consumption and sale. The staff and volunteers collect the eggs between July and September to plant them on the artificial beaches in the Reserve until they hatch between October and November and then release the turtles to their natural habitat.

BUTTERFLY PROJECT: In 2010, the butterfly farm was created to learn about the biology of these animals and to manage them sustainably as an alternative to using wildlife for commercial purposes.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Since 2001 we have been working with various local communities, including the Juan Pablo Farmers Association and the Native Community of Palma Real, in environmental education and natural resource management programs.

PROJECTS IN TARICAYA

FLORA AND FAUNA STUDIES: Every year the biodiversity within the Reserve is studied to better understand and preserve the flora and fauna in the area.

AGROFORESTRY AND CAOBAS PROJECT: In 2001 an agroforestry system began on a 2000 m2 plot as an example of sustainable agriculture and reforestation.

You can see how the mahogany, cedar, flowers and tropical fruits have grown to create a productive forest that allows the recovery of the area and its sustainable use. The project seeks to provide a sustainable alternative for land use to local communities.

TARICAYA RESCUE CENTER: Since 2004, wild animals have been received from the local authority that have been confiscated from people who took them out of the forest. These animals arrive injured, sick or malnourished and enter a rehabilitation program to give them back the necessary qualities to be able to release them back to their natural habitat, promoting the recovery of local fauna.

Day 6COLLPA DE LOROS “CACHUELA”

4:00 a.m. From our ranch we will embark on a boat that will take us to our destination “la collpa de loros”. We will cross the Madre de Dios River for approximately an hour and a half, on the way we will be able to appreciate varieties of flora and fauna, specifically diversity of birds in dynamism with nature and a beautiful sunrise.

At 6 a.m. approx. Arriving we will locate ourselves in a strategic place at a prudent distance to wait for the arrival of various species of parrots and hopefully macaws; especially you will have the opportunity to observe the blue-headed parrots, auroras, parakeets and some birds of other species as well. In this place, the clay has mineral salts from which these birds feed before carrying out their common activity in the jungle, such as feeding on fruits and others in order to neutralize the toxins from the ingested fruits. This activity lasts about 1 hour, it is the time you will have to film and take the best views, contemplate these beautiful and interesting birds accompanied by a beautiful jungle sunrise.

Around 7:00 in the morning we will be returning to our hostel to have the last breakfast and then we will go back to the city of Puerto Maldonado.

TAMBOPATA CACAO TASTING TOUR

Embark on a flavorful journey into the world of Amazonian chocolate, guided by a local expert who will reveal the secrets behind cacao cultivation and production. We will explore the different varieties of cacao, gaining insight into their unique characteristics and the role they play in crafting high-quality chocolate.

As we delve into the traditional chocolate-making process, we will participate in the roasting and grinding of cacao beans, just as local farmers have done for generations. The rich aroma of freshly roasted cacao will fill the air as we witness the transformation from raw bean to smooth, velvety chocolate.

To complete this indulgent experience, we will savor a handcrafted energy bar, made with the finest native chuncho cacao, known for its deep flavor and natural richness. This immersive tour will not only satisfy our taste buds but also deepen our appreciation for the artistry and dedication behind every piece of chocolate.
